Who is TexasFile?
TexasFile LLC was formed in 2005 and is owned by San Jacinto Title Services in Corpus Christi, Texas. San Jacinto Title is an independent title agency which has been in business for over 50 years and insures title transactions with most of the major title underwriters. This relationship supports our expertise in managing land and title records. We are members of TSPS, TLTA, AAPL, NALTA, HAPL.
What counties are covered?
Click Here to view our coverage which lists the counties we provide access to. If you need a county we don't have online please send an email to info@texasfile.com and let us know. We're adding 1 or 2 new counties per month and prioritize based on our customers' needs.
How does pricing work?
TexasFile.com is entirely free to search and we don't require a subscription or minimum monthly fees. You may click here to create a free login, which allows you unlimited access to our index data. You may save or print a document or plat for $2.00. There are no per page charges, so even a 100 page document is only $2.00. This is a great savings compared with other websites or copies at the courthouse. We also allow you to 'preview' any document for $1.00 total, but this option does not allow you to print or save the document.
How do I pay?
You purchase "credits" with a credit or debit card (all major cards are accepted) and "credits" are deducted from your balance as you download documents. A credit is $0.25, so each document or plat is 8 credits (or $2.00). When you're logged in and on the search page you'll see your credit balance in the top right corner. You'll also see a link to "Buy More". This page will walk you through the credit card purchase process.
Where do you get these records?
We obtain public records and plat maps from Texas County Clerk offices. Unlike other online courthouse websites that rely on 3rd party data providers, TexasFile.com owns and manages all the records you see on our site. As a result, we are continuously improving our coverage and search functionality.
Do you automatically charge my card for anything?
No. TexasFile does not store your credit card information. The only time your card is charged is when you purchase credits.
I'm having trouble finding a document, what do I do?
We have a great customer service team ready to assist you with becoming familiar with our searches. Please call us at (214) 705-6400 or email info@texasfile.com and we'll be happy to assist you with the website. If a document is not available on our site, you may use our document request form and we'll reply with the cost and timeline for obtaining the document from the courthouse.
